Larabar protein bars are a great product for fans of regular Larabars who want a higher protein count. These bars offer 11 grams of plant-based protein coming from nuts and pea protein. These bars are vegetarian and vegan friendly with ingredients that are organic, non-GMO, gluten, and dairy-free. They are sweetened with dates and other fruit with no added sugar

This is a good bar if you are looking for a whole food plant-based protein. The only downside is it is not vegan due to the addition of honey. Also, note that there is another product by this company but it has half the protein and a lot more ingredients. This product is a better pick.

The Vega Protein Snack bar offers 10 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber, and 11 grams of sugar. This bar is 100 percent vegan. They consist of pea protein, brown rice protein, and nuts. The fiber comes from chia and hemp seeds.

They also contain buckwheat which is a gluten-free grain.  They come in four flavors: blueberry oat, chocolate caramel, chocolate peanut butter, and coconut almond.

You can get them on Amazon or Vega offers a 20% discount when you sign up for their newsletter and you can also get 2.5% cashback from Rakuten if you buy through the Vega website. The company states on their website they make non-GMO organic protein bars that are gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free. 

ALOHA Organic Protein Bar

Aloha bars are a plant-based protein that is gluten-free. The protein content is a blend of brown rice protein and pumpkin seed protein. This bar does have added sugar in the form of tapioca syrup and brown rice syrup.

It also contains pumpkin seeds and brown rice. They claim they are soy-free. However, it is manufactured in a faculty that processes soy so it may not be good for those with issues with soy

LOLA Probiotic Protein Bar

LOLA Probiotic Protein bar is a protein bar with 12 grams of plant-based protein in the form of oats, seeds, and nuts. These bars contain 14 grams of sugar from tapioca syrup. LOLA bars are similar to Core bars.

They also contain the probiotic Bacillus coagulans, a type of beneficial bacteria that is similar to the lactobacillus and other probiotics. This bacteria works as a probiotic and has been found to help curb gas, constipation, and diarrhea

Please note there have been some side effects reported when taking the bacteria orally. They include allergic reactions. Women pregnant and nursing should not take this bacteria since there is not enough research on its effects on this population.

B. coagulans may also interfere with antibiotics and immunosuppressant medications. It has been shown to be safe when taken orally for a period of six months or less. No reactions were reported when it was taken as directed.

Research does not show if the same things happen when it is put in foods. So proceed with caution and talk to your doctor before trying these bars.

Protein comes from either pumpkin seeds, organic Sachi inchi (an Inca peanut), or watermelon seed protein. The bars are sweetened by monk fruit. The bar has 26 grams of fiber coming from tapioca fiber which also provides a prebiotic. 

GoMacro Protein Bars

GoMacro bars are vegan protein bars. They are made from organic ingredients. The protein comes from various nuts and seed butter(s) along with a protein blend consisting of organic sprouted brown rice protein and organic pea protein.

Some bars have just sprouted rice protein as the protein source. Other flavors of these bars will have additional nuts or seeds added to them. These include almonds, cashews, and flax seeds.

The protein content ranges from 10 to 12 grams per serving depending on the bar.

The fat comes from nuts, seeds, and some bars that also contain organic coconut oil.

Fiber is 3 grams per serving and the sugar content ranges from 12 to 14 total grams.

Some of these bars contain cinnamon and fruit. The bars also contain added sugar. This takes the form of organic brown rice syrup, organic maple syrup, organic coconut sugar

Rise Bars

Rise bars consist of pea protein and offer a high protein snack with 15 grams of protein per serving. The one thing to note is that some of the Rise Bars contain whey protein so be sure you check the ingredients if you are looking for a vegan protein bar.

These bars can be a good substitute for protein intake when on the go but they are no replacement for a healthy diet. It is important to get adequate nutrient intake from other protein sources and vegetables on a daily basis.
